Ralph Greslin, owner of Timberline, started building in the Black Hills area in 1973. What began as conventional and commercial construction, evolved into the log home business a couple of years later after being asked to erect a log home package for a customer.
Today, more than 34 years later, Timberline has expanded to a new level. While thriving as a general contractor specializing in whole log and country home turn-key projects in the Black Hills area, additions like computerized milling equipment and a new plant near Piedmont, SD have broadened Timberline’s capabilities. The expansion has allowed Timberline to offer a variety of products and services in addition to turn-key construction such as two additional log profile styles, standard and custom log home packages available nationwide, in-house architectural drafting and design services, log accents in round logs and square timbers, log and timber stairways, railing packages, and log home supplies including chinking, caulking, stain, and specialized fasteners.
Family and teamwork have been the root of Timberline’s success and goals. Ralph continues to be involved personally in each project that Timberline undertakes. His wife, Carleen, serves as Secretary and accounting director. His son, Michael Greslin, has succeeded as President and crew foreman. Together, the Timberline staff form a team where every team member is dedicated to their work.
Timberline’s longevity can be attributed to their hundreds of satisfied customers. “These customers become our friends because we maintain a close relationship with them throughout each project. The most important offering to our customers is service.” Timberline strives to continue building outstanding and lasting relationships with their customers that continue long after their log dreams have been fulfilled.
